ATRAPOS dance & culture group aims to connect  ancient dance and spirit with the present, revealing a constantly flowing and malleable timelessness of messages that result from the contact of the body with the soul, from the rich symbolism ancient texts and myths, but also  from the values inherent in the quality of movement, speech and expression, as - perceived through sources - our ancestors approached things.

Through this perspective, the group collaborates with professionals in the field of art, scientists, academics, researchers, but also organizations that support this action, transforming dance into today's messages, and presenting works, performances and events that serve this purpose. . The action of the group extends to educational work , which aims to transmit knowledge and values to the new generations , through the roots of our culture. With a comprehensive educational syllabus that includes education of adults and children in ancient dance, the goal of the group is to transmit this energy, which evolves into performances based on ancient tragedy, the study of dance in its religious and ritual performance, but also the pairing with modern elements, making the work easily accessible to the contemporary viewer.

 

Since dance has served a purely religious purpose since antiquity, the group researches and brings to life plays that rekindle the Ritual Theater,  offering the viewer rich messages of soul, enlivening fragments of the original theatrical rituals in the modern era.  

 

The aim of the group is to promote the Greek element and culture in Greece and abroad in a pioneering and assimilated way, through practical and theoretical courses, seminars with the help of scientists, artists and researchers, performances, events, creation of documentaries, and exchange of information and interaction with foreign cultures.
